Is it just me or does there seem to be a sudden abundance of sample sales happening? I mean, it’s not as if I am not fond of them. But really, were all these sample sales happening pre-recession pockets unknown to me ? I clearly hope not. First there was the Alexander McQueen scarves for £30 and a AMcQ boyish navy jumper my friend bagged for £80. After that came the 2-5euro tops my mam came strolled in the door with one saturday. She informed me they came from a well known Irish ‘designer’ that I had never heard. And so they were. And now, now ladies in my inbox came the invite to the mother of all sample sale. One of my most sought after designers Luella had jumped on the bandwagon. Of course it was in London so it was once again inevitable I would not get my hands on a Spring/Summer ditsy print dress or a Superhero inspired girly yet geeky cardi. And even if it was in Dublin I probably couldn’t afford it at 70% off. Let’s just hope these sample sales don’t go into hiding the next time the tiger comes out to play.
